I noted a decease in the number of hummingbirds at the house this summer. They also arrived later than usual,
but perhaps it was due to the record snowfalls last season near here... over 500 inches.

The east coast hummingbirds winter in Mexico , and I recall seeing a show recently where they have begun a secondary winter migration to Louisiana, so perhaps this includes Florida also.

The west coast hummingbirds winter in central america, but I'm not aware if they have a secondary migration. They appear to be pretty adaptable,
a good thing if they are to survive.

I used to live on the praire east of Denver, and recall how the pronghorns were starting to die off simply because they couldn't jump the low bottom fences along thier traditional routes. Sad to see them so confused when they encountered a new low to the ground fence. They need some space at the bottom to slip under, but for some reason, unlike deer, they won't jump over a fence.
