The CFL's were about that price when they first came out: compared with incandescents they were worth the extra for the longer life and reduced power consumption. But changing to the LEDs runs into the old diminishing returns problem; they'd be worth it if I was changing from incandescents but not when changing from CFL's. So like Bill, I will wait until they drop significantly, which may be longer than for CFL's since they will have more difficulty capturing a slice of the market IMHO.
