The epoxy and hardener will have different specific gravities so the ratio when measured by weight will not be the same as the ratio by volume. Make sure you have the correct ratio for your preferred measuring method.

I don't use a lot of epoxy so I use the cheap 6 oz plastic party cups at the grocery store. I put one inside another, measure an amount of water to represent the amount of material I plan to mix, and use a marker to show the levels. Then I replace the inner cup with a clean one and add epoxy and hardener. I remove the inner cup with the mix and put it inside another cup for use, as they are a bit fragile.
