Nice Hawaiian shirt, Kurt...the blue one...mine is missing. I like the idea of making my own paddle shaft. The bird's mouth technique you show makes it nice and easy to do...and all with a table saw...even better. Linda and I are gonna give Mike, the guy whose gonna marry us, a paddle for a gift. Linda is gonna do some wood burning art on it with Thank You, Mike, burned onto it as well. I think instead of making a cedar stick for him, I'm gonna make him one of your nice home-made canoe paddles. Mike canoes and kayaks as well so I think he will be pleased. Thanks for posting the photographs of the process...they will make the process easier for me.
