Thanks! I saw the wetting trick in the books and was considering wetting it but was afraid it would pertinently discolour / damage the wood. The reason for this is I had to sand off some sweat marks where the wood (western Red wood) change colour when I dripped sweat on it. This was probably form the salt etc. and pure water will have less of an effect on the wood.

: On your hull bottom I wouldn't worry about it. In more visible
: areas just work on the spot with scratches
: with 120 then 220 paper on a hand sanding block.

: Water is the best and only solvent to use on wood, epoxy and
