I am hesitant to do any more sanding
: because even with a long fairing board and fresh sand paper
: (changing every 5 min or less) the softer wood is starting to
: cup out. It is not extream but it is noticeable when you run
: your hand over it. I would say 5 to 15 mills max.

Wet the wood with water and a sponge and you will see if the scratches will show up.

On your hull bottom I wouldn't worry about it. In more visible areas just work on the spot with scratches
with 120 then 220 paper on a hand sanding block.

Water is the best and only solvent to use on wood, epoxy and varnish.
