I don't see the benefit of this. PL is is a urethan glue loaded with a lot of fillers so it can be dispensed from a calking gun cartridge. There are more fillers than glue in it and I don't see why you would need or want the fillers. Painted or varnished cloth has prooven to be more than adequate and it's a whole lot easier to apply than the stick mess that comes out of a PL tube.

: I did one coating over 8 oz. polyester. Not sure if the elasticity
: of the nylon will match up well with the PL Premium (don't know
: how elastic the PL is).

: I've run the kayak up over rocks when beaching, and dropped the
: bow/stern onto asphalt inadvertently when (un)loading. The PL's
: held up well. The Rustoleum paint over the PL has scuffed off
: fairly easily, but it's also very easy to touch up.

: The PL is not UV resistant, at all. Locktite's official stance is
: that UV will cause it to degrade and crack. Be sure to cover the
: PL with something that is UV resistant.

: Thinning it and applying it in more than one coat might be a good
: idea... the PL's thick enough out of the tube to make it an
: exercise in frustration when pushing it around the fabric with a
: spatula. Applying it with a consistent thickness takes time and
: patience. Thinning it might make it easier to apply without
: going insane in the process *grin*.
