I was out with a newish paddler recently, very fit strong young guy, he was suffering a little from numb legs, adjusting the foot pegs slightly shorter helped somewhat, and then he discovered that by powering with his feet he could control direction better and get more power from from his stroke. That was it, we were having to keep up with a beginner. Very annoying and no more numb legs.

The point is this, if you push with the foot on your stroke side with each stroke, you clench your glutes and relieve the pressure on your backside slightly with every stroke. Go for the full body total push with all limbs attitude.

You may be doing everything right and still getting numb legs, but if you are not it is worth a try.
