Epoxy: nasty glass repair *PIC*

Someone gave me a 1970s era riverboat a few years ago. I patched 18 holes in it (it had gotten away from someone, went over falls and rapids etc)
then took it out surfing. It endoed and nearly tore the nose off, ending its surfing days forever. But I would like to repair it for flatwater floating
and roll practice. But it isnt pretty. Layers have seperated from each other, and each leg of the gash is 8-10 inches long. I'm not worried about those legs, its that center part I worry about. There is no practical way to reach this from the inside short of sending in small children, which i dont have, so it will have to be patched on the outside only. I'm just looking for watertight here, it does not have to be super strong or look good since it will only receive light duty use. I wonder if I will have to take a jigsaw and cut an even bigger hole until I get clean edges? or what do you suggest?
