The Sealects are tough, and the adjustment mechanism is great. My beef is that the angle at which your foot hits: sit, and stick your foot out in front of you. Note that the outside edge is further forward than the inside edge. This gets more pronounced the more you frog-leg with your knees. The Sealects want your foot to hit exactly opposite of this natural angle!

With regard to that angle of contact, the Harmony pegs are actually the best of all commercial foot braces, in my opinion.

: I'm thinking of putting adjustable pegs in my Shooting Star. I've
: been using foam blocks on the bulkhead, but now think that
: having something I can adjust while on the water would be a good
: thing for adapting to changing conditions of wind and wave,
: cramping, whatever. I also want to test, as I'm thinking of a
: future build.

: So: what do folks think of these?

: The Sealect pegs are a well-known design (formerly Sea Dog), and
: have garnered good reviews. Harmony I know of as a
: budget-oriented equipment maker, but I haven't seen their pegs
: before. The pads look a little small, and the whole design less
: robust.

: I appreciate all thoughts! Thanks in advance.
