: Ive been hearing talk about making a Kayak out of canvas, and was
: wondering what kind of canvas would i be using, and if there was
: anyone out there that might have some plan's that they could
: either share or direct me to a place or site where i could
: inquire about this.. Im looking to save money, but not degrade
: the structure of the kayak

We used to build these in the boy scouts. Fun project and much cheaper than using other skinning materials. You need a #10 duck cloth/canvas which is about 15 oz per square yard. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH 10oz DUCK CLOTH!! You aren't gonna find this at your local fabric store. You can buy #10 duck cloth/canvas wholesale from Big Duck Canvas in cut yardage here http://www.duckclothwholesale.com or call them at 800-704-6138
The plans i used are here http://www.thewoodshop.20m.com/kayak1.htm
Have fun! I hope this helps you some. Come back with some pics when you are done.
