I bought an extra 'loaner' PFD from - of all places - Cabelas. It's not restrictive, and in fact fits almost as nicely as the Stohlquist I use - and (on sale) it cost 1/3 as much. Agree though - try 'em on.

AFA kayak carts - you might try the thread search function. I know that's been discussed, though not recently. Try blueheronkayaks.com; I believe he has info on building your own.
