In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: artificial sinew with polyester? (Wayne One (wwfloyd))

: I've done 2 skins with nylon and artificial sinew (waxed thread). I
: like the feel of the thread, and wonder if I can use it with
: polyester. I do understand I can't pull the skin up real tight,
: so the sinew would be overkill on strength. But, is it OK? Will
: it take the Rustoleum oil based paint OK?

Check Jeff Horton's (KudzuCraft.com) web site. He uses polyester and artifical sinew all the time and tightens up the polyester with a clothes iron. Look under boat building on his web site.
