: I have never done this but have an idea. If you can reach the
: forward bulkhead location from the cockpit, I think I would
: start with a piece of styrafoam -the old slightly crushable and
: crumbly kind. To get something stable I think you will need
: something at least an inch thick. Cut a couple holes in the
: center so you have something to grab to get it back out. I would
: cut he styrafoam bulkhead a rough slightly oversize shape then
: press it into place. It will crush against the inside of the
: hull and get you really close to a bulkhead pattern. You can
: easilly rasp it into shape if you dont get the fit right on the
: first try.

: Once you have the styrafoam fitting well you can transfer the
: pattern to something thinner and harder to refine your bulkhead
: pattern.

Which gives me a thought: why do you want the bulkhead in the first place? If you are just creating emergency buoynacy you can do it better by filling the volume with an expanding foam spray, sold at hardware stores for sealing cracks between walls and window or door frames.
