The gnawing probably has not done any damage. Those slots running across top and bottom of the foam bulkhead allow for expansion and contraction with temperature. The bulkhead is actually only "solid" for about an inch, in the center, and the pest doesn't appear to have gotten that deep.

I think Lexel is what you want to touch up that adhesive, at the bottom. Most hardware stores have it in squeeze tubes.
