: Back when I built my first wood stip kayak, epoxy had to be
: protected from UV. I realize that epoxies with no UV protection
: in them still need protection. Last year my wife talked me into
: building 2 stand up paddle boards (Paul Jensen designs). On the
: paddle boards I used Resin Research 2000CE/2100F along with
: Additive F. The 2000CE resin has UV inhibitors in it. That was
: my final finish on the boards. Except for when they are being
: used, they are stored in the garage out of the sun ( I am in
: Florida). Using epoxy as the final finish seems to be pretty
: standard with home built surf boards. Both of mine are about a
: year old now and still look good. Any thoughts on using epoxy
: was the final finish?

: BTW-I have no affiliation with Resin Research or Paul Jensen.

The UV additives used in epoxy help to slow the damage from UV, it doesn't stop it though. It needs coated with something with more UV protection for a reasonable lifespan. Either paint or a good exterior (marine) varnish.
