: Robert,
: It is looking great. I have been using my Solace a lot this year.
: It is the best boat I have when I take out that big 500mm lens.
: I a looking forward to hearing about your 18, I am considering
: that as a build. I am also considering this one that the guy I
: paddle with designed
: http://www.blueheronkayaks.com/kayak/index.html It is a good all
: around fast boat.

Great Scott, I didn't know Ross had his own site. Thanks for the link, Mr. Baxter. Keith is building the Solace 17 and I am working on the 16. I mistakenly indicated that his kayak was an 18 some time ago but I have since started telling the truth. That said, I have paddled the 18 and find it to be a very nice stable kayak. It needs a rudder because of the length: turning is cranky. That said, Nicks 18' S&G Night Heron turns easily faster than any other boat I own right now. Lots of rocker in that hull there is. We're gonna launch the kayak in two weeks...I got tired last weekend and mom told me she really wanted to attend the launch picnic (she is out of town this weekend and wouldn't have been able to come), hence the changed launch date.
