Hello Allan

The first hole through the deck was 1/2" which like you say, I filled with thick epoxy. I re-drilled it with a 3/8" bit which was the diameter of the plastic tube. With the sleeve in place on the tube, 3/8" was too tight so I opened up the hole a little with a rat-tail file (I don't have as many drills and tools as I'd like!).
