: Hello,
: My daughter was given a old fiberglass kayak it has no hatches or
: tie downs of any sort. it has a small spot needing patched, so
: we will be playing with fiberglass and was wondering. how hard
: is it to add a hatch to a kayak that doesn't have a spot
: designed for one. we also want to add tie downs for traveling
: and for gear right in front of cockpit. the aft is slightly
: peaked so i dont think i could use a big hatch maybe two smaller
: ones
: here are a couple photos...

I can't see the pictures, but I'd bet this is an old downriver kayak. I'd suggest paddling it first before you spend a dime on it, it might not be what you want to put money into. Those boats are ok running rivers, they arn't directionally stable on flat water, it's not what they were designed to do.
