: Cutting 3-4+ feet off a 17+ foot boat won't fly. If I were looking
: for a shorter SOF boat I'd look at a shorter model or look for
: the Yost-style version of a Cape Falcon.
Is it the F1 you're talking about? http://capefalconkayak.com/f1.html
I do like it but I find it a bit beamy (I'd like something 19.5" to 21") but it says "introduction of scalability to the design; the ability change the size and shape a bit for different sized paddlers and different uses" which would be nice. Now I've never built a boat/less scaled/modified one... where can one find yostlike xsections for it and how does one go about scaling/reshaping the thing?

: I have a 14'9" Sea Tour 15 that has been modified to look more
: "Greenlandy." This was built in one of Bill Hamm's
: classes. I believe Tom has the offsets. This boat accelerates,
: turns and tracks extremely well and keeps up with long boats at
: cruising speed. It is not going to be a fantastic sprinter.
I think that's as long as I could go but I'd have to hang it on an overhang over the fence... dunno what the "friendly" condo board would say...LOL. Your boat looks great... I'd want to put 2 deck stringers on the bow just cause I like the Sea Rider's look so much.
Maybe I'll ask Mr Yost about it when I find his email.

: I also live in a condo and boat length is a consideration for me. I
: would take a hard look at the Tom's inflatable kayak designs.
: I'm building a stripper right now, but I have a feeling that the
: eventual Sonnet will be the most-used kayak.
I find the inflatables great but... not sexy... My ideal boat right now would be a Seabird SeaPearl... then the Black Pearl or a Tahe Greenland... can't get any of those lines on the Sonnet...
