The boat is 18', but just a 20". It does have less rocker than my paddling partner's boats. As far as weight goes I am a bit light for it, but have the same complaint whether I'm running empty or loaded for camping. I've been using a Greenland paddle for a couple years and have worked on my stroke a good bit, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be me. One way to find out would be to borrow my old Guillemot back on the next rough day and see if that really handles as much better as I remember.
