: I gave up on waterproof cameras, Bill, they all end up at the
: bottom of the river sooner or later. That said, my Pentax Optio
: lasted me 6-years before its seals gave way while I was
: snorkeling at Yost Van Dyke last year. Bloody thing wouldn't
: work even after soaking it in clean water and letting it dry for
: an eon or two. Oddly enough, I am still using my Canon Rebel
: xTi...even dropped that into a bucket of clean water accidently
: one dark evening after imbibing a little...it is working just
: fine...had that one for something like 4 years now. Will I ever
: get a new WP camera...probably not but if someone wants to give
: me one...I wouldn't turn them down.

Hi Robert,

Heck there are jokes I remember about you and cameras . And I remember the story about the Canon too :)

I've got the similiar Nikon and it's not a boating camera, I also have a Canon S3S that I use alot, and it too isn't a boating camera. Waterproof cases for either of these are quite expensive.

I use the GP almost all the time, so while it's been years since I rolled a kayak by mistake, my hands are always wet, that wet kills normal cameras eventually. I doubt that I'd ever take it swimming, for me it's wet hand proof :)
