When I do seal coats, I try to leave as little epoxy behind as possible. All I want to do is coat the wood's surface to neutralize the pores, not let it soak in .... because I'm a weight freak. The result is almost always a blotchy appearance. But I never see any of it after glass wet-out, everything looks just fine.
