Strip: Spanish Cedar and Alaskan Yellow Cedar

Has anyone used Alaskan yellow cedar and/or Spanish cedar for stripping? I haven't used or really even seen either, but from descriptions I've read they seem promising. How are they to work with? How dark is Spanish cedar? How light is yellow cedar? Would these two woods be suitable for dark and light contrasting strips? Thanks.
