: Would oil based enamel work on nylon?

: Bill

Hi Bill,
I'm not sure, though the stretchiness of nylon could be problematic, I haven't used nylon on any project. My kayaks are canvas skinned, and enamel works very well with that. I've done a few small covers with polyester (not kayak related) and enamel does fine, just work it into the weave well.
For nylon, I think polyU varnishes/paints would be better. Coelan's seems the best.
