In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: sea sock (john faas)

: I am trying to build/make/sew a sea sock for my F1 SOF.
: So far I have a first effort of oilcloth which fits the coaming
: nicely. The question I have is should it be attatched to the
: inside of the boat or not.
: The frist time I tried to get out of the boat with the sock, the
: sock got tangled around my foot. I was thinking of laying
: semi-rigid foam inside the sock--think sleeping bag pad.

: The F1 has a small lip on the coaming so I am concerned that I do
: not ruin the fit of the skirt.
: Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The designs I have seen (and plan to follow) have loops that can be attached to the frame inside the hull to keep the sock in, and also keep it up off your feet.
