Maligiaq Padilla says there is a technique Greenland paddlers used for paddling really fast called "bow-down paddling," where they were able to paddle hard enough to push the bow down, and probably make the wl longer. Dubside interviewed a very old seal catcher year before last who talked about it as well. If you can believe it- Maligiaq says he's not strong enough to do it.

We can talk science all day, but there are definitely things that have been lost in Greenland paddling, probably in the Aleutians as well.
