I was planning on steaming, as I hadn't given thought to laminating for the ribs. The coaming could be laminated, but I wouldn't want to try laminating ribs (especially on my first boat.) I have a line on oak for $2/bd ft, so that will probably be the way I go. (Ash was $3/ft.)

By the way, anyone in the PNW looking for yellow cedar for strip built? The ad I saw was for a gent south of Olympia.
