Thanks. The glue used for the deck strip is a neoprene based contact cement available at many hardware stores.
It's quite compatible with neoprene / hypalon coatings, especially before they are fully cured.

I used to buy Gaco-flex neoprene and hypalon (both are similar Dupont products) available from Gaco-Western
at http://www.gaco.com/pds_H22.html

Here's two kayaks I skinned with sewn polyester and coated with hypalon (deck) and neoprene (hull).
