: Hi Noel,

: I can't look at the pix till I get home, but I use particle board
: for the top surface of the workbench and it seems to hold up
: very well. I have 3/4" plywood under the particle board
: since it'll sag if used alone. The surface just has several
: coats of sealer on it, it tends to resist most stains that way.

No worries. I understand workplace 'net filtering. Particle board was my first thought... after reading Paul's recommendations, I might just go with solid lumber. Might be easier for me to deal with at the current moment.

: I've got several Sears Craftsman workbench bases that I use, three
: in the basement and two more in the garage for work surfaces,
: they work ok, but I got them on sale fairly cheap, provides
: several drawers for storage which helps.

: Bill H.

I managed to score an old beat up dresser at some point in my travels. It ain't fancy, but I've got plenty of storage in it. I'll keep an eye out for those benches, though. I've got the garage to think about yet, and I don't think I'll ever have too many drawers.
