Skin-on-Frame: wrinkles

hello all,
i,ve just built a baidarka based on mae593-76 .
The problem is that the polyester skin was completely taut before applying polyurethane.
After 4 coats, i put it in the sun to dry and , no, no, no it went all wrinkly and saggy. The tension seems to change with the atmospheric conditions.
Perhaps I've been sold nylon labelled as polyester?
Would anyone have some suggestions as to how i can fix this, short of re-skinning?
