Paddle: Foodsaver-Carbonfiber Gp

I am half way through building a balsa core, carbon fiber GP. I will post some pics when I have them. Process so far, laminated the balsa core, carved the paddle (11oz) and vacuum bagged the first layer of cf. I used an old Foodsaver to do the vacuum bagging, and it worked perfectly. If you have a food saver you might you might give it a try. Just remember to wipe the epoxy off with some vinegar so the wife does not kill you.
One question for those who have made CF paddles. What did you use for UV protection? I looked in to west system 207 and it says to use varnish. Will varnish make it two slick?
