Hi Craig
Just a thought. Dark colours absorb heat. If you leave the hull in the sun for long periods heat builds up in the timber beneath and blisters are more likely to form in the paintwork than they will with lighter sun-reflecting pigments.
Black alway looks real cool, on a guitar, a car or a boat; it is also a very slimming colour and will make a fat boat appear slimmer and thus faster.
Of course, in Ireland all this is moot, as we don't get sun and we can use whatever colour we like, but if you live in sunny climes black is perhaps not the most practical.
With that in mind I would recommend silver.
