If your fine lines are very fine like the single dark line and pale line on either side of the inlay in the photo below, you will generally find it easier to attach the fine accent line to the side of a strip before you put it on the kayak.

That way, you are working with things that are straight and flat.

And definitely simpler if you are not using bead and cove.
