I think my first kayak ( 16' X 28") was all cedar. Purchase in Alaska.
Purchased the Epoxy localy, ( It's eazy to come by in Anchorage.)
I spent $450.00 USD on wood, glass & epoxy. another $100.00 on sandpaper &
stuff, I was useing cut up plastic milk jugs for scrapers & scrap plywood
fairing boards. I already had the table saw & jig saw's & a router.
( I did the cove & bead thing.) $45.00 for the bit.
However..
that was a few years ago & wood is a little higher now.
Now I have a R/O sander & another R/O sander... & a lot of plains, & spoke shaves.
& I'm really into sharpening stuff to a razors edge. You wouldn't
believe how working with a really sharp tool is so good.
However.
that kayak was a pearl. I love it the most.
