Hi Tripp,
If my memory serves me correctly another person who contributes to this board occasionally built a Bjorn Thomasson kayak that way (David of Tasmania) and I think he wasn't too pleased with the results. So you could go back through the archives and look up his post, a year or 2-3 ago.
