It looks like you have already figured out that beveling works better to join strips at accent stripes than bead and cove. Only one edge of the strip needs to be beveled so usually the strip being added is beveled to match the strip already attached to the boat. Gluing a white veneer to the WRC before ripping the strips for the field of the deck is a good idea. Then just bevel the WRC edge when adjoining the strips. Decks have a larger radius than sides and keels, so pin striping just the deck works well. Buy Nick's book! The pic is from Joe Greenley’s Redfish Kayaks website. He does nice work.
