I would be the last person to discourage anyone from trying something new...in
fact, you can use my "concerns" as motivation
... in a sort of "I told you
so" scenario.
There is a "clunky" looking sectional boat (plastic), that has a removable
skin, if that is the way you plan to go about it, and that seems the easiest way..
In that event, full bulkheads won't be needed, just reinforced cross sections
that butt and bolt together at the section take-apart connections, and then
the assembled frame can be slipped into the skin.
Now that I think about it, perhaps this type of SOF construction does have
some redeeming qualities...
I could see a small SOF sailboat being built
this way due to the additional rigidity of the sectional frame.
