: Hi Tom,
: Well last question first, it's a challenge, there are questions if a SOF 3
: piece kayak will work and that's a good enough reason all by itself to try
: it, for me at least
: Yes, need two piece bulkheads so it can come apart, but they each don't have
: to be full thickness both because once assembled they are then double
: thickness and because they are full bulkheads rather than frames with no
: centers, so each being 5/16" to 3/8" will be fine.
: Also, even though I need to make more test panels, I'm still refining my skin
: material, even though it's pretty strong it's also pretty light. I've
: known since building the last one that I needed to build another, just
: didn't get the stringers cut before it got cold and this year it's stayed
: cold and snowy, unusual for this climate. So...waiting for the weather to
: break .
: Oh yeah, eventually I'll tackle a folder, but that's yet another project
: Still think I can make this boat, even being three piece, at under 30 lbs.

Darn it, read first then reply , floor on the completed boat is 1/4" ply like you said (yes, I do listen).
