: Any one have experience using copper for inlays? I would like to try it and
: would be interested in any pitfalls.
I've used brass sheet stock and copper wire. Both work beautifully. It cuts great with a fine jeweler's saw. As long it's protected by epoxy and varnish it shouldn't get a patina. The picture is of an inlay I did on my wife's boat. The heart is dyed maple burl. I set it with epoxy before glassing the deck. I then wrapped it with copper wire using thick cyanoacrylate (super glue). I sanded it flush (should have used a higher grit... like 400... note the scratches.) and then glassed the deck.
