Ferrocement is not without merits, even if public appreciation is low. The link below shows the relaunching with a new owner of my former boat, a 36 ft ketch, amateur built 30 years ago by myself and a friend in two years on a shoestring budget. No problems and minimal upkeep (except for some substandard woodwork due to inexperience) and in very good condition. Sold five years ago for approx double the materials cost (a little more than Bill suggests, but still with hourly wages I do not wish to elaborate on).
