Btw, thinned paint, enamal, works fine as stain and while I know that everyone says that you have to avoid oil with epoxy it ain't always so. I've used oil based stain that once dry worked just fine with epoxy, you just have to insure that it's dry. Many of the old fashioned oil based stains you get a paste that requires thinning before use. Don't necessarily have to use oil based thinner, alcohol usually works. Getting in a rush causes more problems with finishing that almost anything else.
