: The Canadian governmet has stepped up the harvest of pine in BC due
: to the pine beetle infestation. They are harvesting the wood
: despite the fact that the trees have died in order to recover as
: much as possible before the wood becomes unuseable. The
: interesting characteristic of this pine beetle damaged wood was
: noted to be the red colorations that permeate the wood. Perhaps
: there might be some use for this in board/kayak building.

I'd think that someone would do this. I'd buy some but suspect it'll never be available very far from the west coast.
