: We just did a 2 1/2 day tour of Lake Powell a couple of weeks ago.
: We opted for the lazy option - got a ride to the entrance of a
: couple of slot canyons, then paddled and hiked in. Some pictures

: We left our kayaks at home and used the ones supplied by the tour
: operator. The Powell adventure was just a few days in a longer
: hiking and camping trip. Beautiful and well worth while. Weather
: was perfect, although lots of rain in the neighborhood.

Jim, great pictures. We got back a day early, about 2:00 AM today. Watching the cloud systems we predicted high winds for today so we did a 26 mile paddle yesterday and came in. Our prediction was correct winds have been about 30 mph down there today. The first day was the same so we only got in 4 days of paddling about 75 miles and a few good hikes. Days were warm and nights were cold, no rain and mild winds. We saw 3 house boats and maybe 5 fishing boats the entire time except for the last few miles by the marina, we pretty much had the lake to ourselves. We have never tried the boat shuttle thing but we have considered it, out last paddle on Powell was a 120 mile paddle. I will get some pictures out as soon as I get back from my next two business trips.
