Ahh yes, those crazy Schweizers and their liederhosen and yodeling and what-not. LOL

Actually I am sure that in addition to being a different species than tulip poplar, likely being buried in what may well have been permafrost probably helped in the preservation. I just thought it was interesting and then when they said it was poplar I had to laugh.
