I used the aft 1/8" thick plywood piece from my CLC kit and hot glued it in place. Since I wanted an ocean cockpit I didn't use the forward flat piece. I glued 1/8" thick strips on top of the plywood and used 1/4" thick strips to make the flat area for the cockpit opening. It seemed to work OK. Both the top and bottom were covered with 4 oz s-glass and I used carbon cloth on the bottom as well.
