For those that are interested, I've just started to build a really interesting Hybrid Night Heron. I'll be posting regular updates on the build (hopefully weekly) so people can follow along. Hopefully my posts can help some home builders. I posted just posted the first entry on my website.

It was commissioned over the summer with a completion date around Thanksgiving. To make it even lower in volume I'll be lowering and reshaping the deck. It was modified so much it now resembles a Petrel. It's going to have a LOT of carbon fiber. The sides of the okoume plywood hull will be covered in CF while the bottom gets a tough black graphite coating. The deck will be stripped in Sapele. All of the deck and cockpit hardware will be carbon fiber as well and coated with an automotive clear coat. It should be stunning.
