Skin-on-Frame: no masik on Sea Bee 13?

Hi,
I new here and this is my first boat build. I started on a microcruiser a couple of years ago and halfway in I decided to build a Yostwerks Sea Bee 13. The sailboat is taking to long to build and I want out on that water! I am at the final stage before skinning the kayak and noticed that when I sit in it there does not seem to be a masik or thigh brace. The only thing close to one would be station 3 and that frame sits about and inch or two down below my knees putting the top of the frame at my upper shins. Is this on purpose? Or are my legs just too short? LOL Has anyone else come across this and can I fix it by installing a thigh brace? I was even thinking of some sort of piece that will velcro in place across my thighs.

Or is this something I should not worry about in this design? I am new to kayaking and will not be getting into rolling, I will be using the kayak on day sail basis or maybe for an overnighter. I am currently working on learning a few rolls so I can recover in case of a capsize as I will be kayaking in the Pacific Ocean not too far from my home in Venice Beach, California. I always wanted a kayak because of the portability and the sea bee looked like a fun build. I will be using the boat as a fill in until my Paradox clone sailboat is ready, and probably way beyond that, as I have a feeling that I will find 30 lbs. much easier to get in the water than 800 to 1000 lbs.

My concern here is I don't have enough experiance with this type of kayak to know if this thigh brace is a safety issue or is it just comfort? Do I need one in the Sea Bee 13? Thanks for any and all help here.
