If you're not completely bored with my home movies of whales, I went out again this morning.

Blue whales you've seen, how about porpoises and blue whales? How about a pair of blue whales 20 feet away? I didn't do this on purpose. As I paddled towards a spout, my attention was distracted by a porpoise right off my bow, when I looked up I saw a blue whale heading straight for me. I figured I'd better get out of the way--out of courtesy, respect and the law--like I do with buses and container ships. This was the second whale, the lead whale might have been right under me! They had turned and then turned again right towards me and I wasn't aware. I doubt they were the least bit bothered or threatened by me. (I jury rigged a FlipHD holder, small piece of ply, 1/4" turn screw, hold it in my teeth. Works pretty good, but it messes with my binocular vision and depth perception.)
