: What kind of paddling do you hope to do?

The kayak would be used on the Finger Lakes close to shore and in the Erie canal system. Easy going paddling.
This would be a first kayak just to get my feet wet on building and paddling. I don't want to make a big investment and long term durability is not an issue.
